Drawfee Show is an art and comedy YouTube channel. It originally began on Facebook in 2014, as a part of CollegeHumor. In 2020, after the hosts lost their jobs at CollegeHumor, the channel became independent. Episodes are posted every week, where the creators take on various drawing challenges. Often the videos involve character creation, or sometimes fanart of existing media.

The creators themselves engage with and encourage fandom. It isn't unusual for them to suggest fanart or fanfiction ideas in a video, and they frequently create fanart themselves. They've even hired or had on the channel fans of theirs. For example, a fan named Nayaka was a popular compilation maker that Drawfee has hired to make official year-in-review compilations for their channel; and a fan named DeepBlueInk that became popular for animatics guested on the channel.

Drawtectives

Drawtectives is a role-playing game designed and run by Julia Lepetit, posted to the Drawfee Youtube channel. The objective of the game is for the Drawtectives, played by Jacob, Nathan, and Karina, to solve a mystery by interviewing various characters, typically played by Julia, or by a guest on occasion. The interviews involve a prompt given to the Drawtectives by the interviewee which they must draw in order to receive information.

As of April 2025, Drawtectives is midway through its third season, The Midnight Alley.

Characters

Main cast by order of appearance:

  • P. I. Jancy True- Julia Lepetit
  • Grendan 'Grenda' 'Grandma' 'G-ma' Highforge- Nathan Yaffe
  • Gyorik 'York' Rogdul- Jacob Andrews
  • Rosé- Karina Farek
  • Eugene Finch- Julia Lepetit

York, Rosé, and Grendan are the Drawtectives in question, sent on cases by Jancy True.

Eugene makes his first appearance in season two, The Celestial Spear, in which he has amnesia and joins the Drawtectives on their mission to discover the secrets surrounding the Celestial Spear.

Fandom

Drawfee has a large subscriber base on Youtube and Twitch, and substantial followings on their individual social media platforms. The Youtube channel reached one million subscribers in late 2018, and has been steadily increasing since. They often refer to this as the 'two million creep', the subject of many jokes made across Youtube and Twitch alike.

Shipping

While Drawfee fans are overwhelmingly disinterested in shipping the real-life Drawfee hosts, shipping various Drawfee original characters is quite popular. Plenty of fanart and fanfiction shipping characters has been created, and is often referenced by the Drawfee hosts themselves.

Some of the most popular Drawfee character ships include:

  • Sara Pena/Hunter Richardson
  • Schmidt/Nando
  • Grendan/York/Rosé
  • Harper Justice/Rosé

Drawtectives receives the most amount of fanfiction within the Drawfee fandom, likely due to its extensive lore and large amount of content compared to other Drawfee characters.
