Dr. Stone (stylised as Dr. STONE) is a shounen manga series written by Inagaki Riichirō (often called both by fans and Boichi “Inagaki-sensei”[note 1]) and illustrated by Boichi (real name: Mu-jik Park.) It has been serialised in Shounen Jump and adapted into an anime; as of now, it has two seasons of animation by TMS Entertainment with a sequal one announced[1].[2] The story starts off when Taiju is trying to confess his love for Yuzuriha. Senku gives Taiju a fake love poison which Taiju does not drink. so when Taiju is trying to confess a green light comes and turns the sky green, turning everyone to stone. Many thousand years later, Senku uses a revival liquid from a cave to free Taiju of being stone. From that point on they have a mission to bring back humanity.

Shipping
Although the most popular ships tend to be slash the fandom also has a fair amount of popular het pairings.
- Senkuu Ishigami/Gen Asagiri: By far the most popular pairing in the fandom, with shippers often latching onto how they seem to complement each other in their strategies despite their different personalities and areas of expertise. Known by the portmanteau Sengen.
- Senkuu Ishigami/Tsukasa Shishio: The second most popular pairing involving Senkuu, with shippers focusing on the mutual respect that exists between these two even when they were enemies. Known by the portmanteau Tsukasen.
- Dr. Xeno Houston Wingfield/Stanley Snyder: The pairing quickly got the attention of shippers when the two characters were introduced in the America Arc, especially as the extent of Stanley's devotion to Dr Xeno was revealed.
- Taiju Ooki/Yuzuriha Ogawa: Very close to being a canon relationship, as canon has made it clear that they both have feelings for each other and Taiju is merely waiting for the petrification threat to be over before he can confess to Yuzuriha. In fanon, it is common for them to be a side pairing in fics focusing on other pairings.
- Chrome/Ruri: Also close to being canon and, like with Taiju/Yuzuriha, it is not uncommon to have Chrome/Ruri as a side pairing to fics focusing on other pairings.

Fanfiction
The Dr. STONE fanfiction community has a fairly equal distribution of manga-based works and anime-based works. About 50% of the community writes under the Senkuu Ishigami/Gen Asagiri tag, with the rest focusing on various other character dynamics, both romantic and platonic. A notable chunk of Dr. STONE fanfiction focuses on developing the pre-canon relationship between Byakuya, Senkuu's father, and Senkuu himself.
The largest fanfiction on Archive of Our Own, under both the Dr. STONE manga and anime tags, is "The Observer Effect" (stylized as the observer effect) by MistressEast. It's a Senkuu Ishigami/Gen Asagiri fanfiction that explores a pre-petrification meeting through the wrong number trope.

- ^ Instance of Boichi referring to Inagaki as Inagaki-sensei, Instance of a fan reffering to Inagaki like that. The reason for calling Inagaki that is being respectful; at least in Japanese fandom, it is common courtesy to use the suffix -sensei with a mangaka's name. Non-Japanese and Western fandom has picked this up.
