Down The Rabbit Hole is a Swan Queen story written by amycarey.

Synopsis

It's pure good fortune that leads Emma Swan to get a job at The Rabbit Hole, a specialist children's bookstore in New York City, on her very first day in the city. It's certainly not good fortune, however, that her path crosses with R. C. Mills, the reclusive author of the extremely popular 'Marisol Mendez' series. She can't stand the woman, even if Mulan reckons she spends far too much time talking about her for someone she claims to dislike so much.

Reactions and Reviews

If a fanfic ever deserved a fanfic of its own, it should be one of yours. I've been resisting reading this one until it was completed, because I can't handle the wait with how awesome your stories are, but endgame (and knowing this one is only lacking the epilogue, which I could live with) finally gave me that extra nudge. And boy, am I glad it did. Beautiful, wonderful, excellent as per usual![1]

this was so wonderful. the pacing was great and honest, and the interweaving of the novels was so well done. i loved how you managed to make me invested in the characters, and worry about them and rot for them, without doing any huge dramatic weepy totally bananas unrealistic drama stuff. it just felt so *real*, i loved it. beautiful job.[2]

You don’t need to watch the show to feel right at home in this cozy AU. The author does a wonderful job of integrating bookshop vibes into the OUAT fandom without getting bogged down by the drama of the show. The characters are amazingly true to themselves, believable and the book R. C. Mills is writing, presented side by side with the main story is a wonderful addition. You get equally invested in both.[3]

down the rabbit hole was such a beautifully written and healing fic, it’ll stay with me always.[4]
