The almost inevitable question as to how a donkey managed to successfully mate with a dragon much, much larger than he is, and produce part-dragon/part donkey offspring, is given zero explanation in the canon source material (expected, given the target audience). Because of this, memes have arisen that point this out, and the question has plagued the minds of both fandom and the wider film watching audience since the dronkeys' debut at the end of Shrek 2.
