Doncel is a trope almost exclusive from the Spanish-speaking fandom and from Wattpad in particular. A doncel is a man that has the ability to conceive. A doncel is similar from an omega, but difers from AOB dynamics in that there are no alphas or heat/rut cycles, just ordinary men and men that can become pregnant. The word "doncel" comes from a court office of the late medieval Castilian monarchy, carried out by young men from noble families who were not yet armed as knights and who served as pages or companions of the king or the heir to the crown. Its plural is "donceles".
The origin of the word "doncel" in fanworks is unclear but it's been used at least from 2013.
