Don't Kiss Me Goodnight is a Hanson fanfic written by Shimmer.
The story centers around Taylor's romance with an OFC and the resulting teen pregnancy. Like many fanfics written by young authors, it features frequent author's notes interrupting the text.
Reactions and Reviews
Fortunately, the one that responded is the author of one of the most intriguing stories among the truckloads of drivel available for the mind numbing. Her story is called Don't Kiss Me Goodnight, and it tells the story of a 14-year-old girl named August, her befriending and eventual romancing of Taylor Hanson, and the issues in her life that come to the fore and get resolved as a result -- things like child abuse and premarital sex. The author, billed as Night Mare, writes with more dignity and true storytelling effort than most of the hiccupping hormone geysers out there, and her story actually manages to rise above mere slobbery titillation.[1]
In between all the author’s notes, surprisingly little plot ever manages to take place, but what does happen is just as cliche as the brief first chapter leads me to expect. August is the victim of abuse, and Taylor is inexplicably drawn to her–so drawn that he manages to finagle her a staring part in their next music video. Naturally, the two fall in love, and you can imagine what sort of teenage drama follows.[2]
