Because Amnesia!Fic can be so much fun. It’s like a different meeting AU plus an outsider’s POV rolled into one.In this case, the outsider is Jim, who wakes up in his bed with a worried dark-haired stranger hovering over him. When he starts to question everything, Blair gets understandably upset. I like Joan’s characterizations. Yes, we see Blair hyper and a bit panicky as he realizes the situation. However, once he knows Jim isn’t in immediate danger, he settles into his more analytical, helpful mode. Jim, even in an unknown situation, falls back on his basic instincts to not panic and scope out the situation. He weighs each new revelation against his intuition. It feels comfortable, so he’s willing to wait things out and learn what he can.
He also makes some understandable but erroneous assumptions about their relationship. Especially when he decides to call in sick.[1]
