DWCon, also known as the "International Discworld Convention" is a science fiction convention held in the United Kingdom on even-numbered years. The first DWCon took place in 1996 and was organized by members of the Usenet newsgroup alt.fan.pratchett. The event focuses on the works of writer Terry Pratchett.
History
Paul [Rood] became the proof of that old saying 'Fools rush in where angels fear to tread' when he naively proposed a super afp meet - only to use the word 'convention'. The result is history: the First Discworld Convention took place in Manchester in June 1996.lspace.org[1]
