Desire: An Asoryuu Marriage Zine was a for-profit zine depicting the wedding of Ryunosuke Naruhodou and Kazuma Asogi from The Great Ace Attorney duology.

About

The zine was announced on January 18, 2023[1]. An open call for a finance mod was posted on January 20, 2023, then later posted with a Google form on January 24, 2023[2]. The position was filled on January 31, 2023[3]. On February 2, 2023, the project's organizers announced that they would stop using curiouscat as their inquiry box and asked that fans contact them by email or through the askbox on the project's Tumblr[4]. Recruitment for promo team members ran from February 6, 2023, to March 10, 2023[5]. Results were sent out on March 11, 2023[6].

Interest checks were launched from February 13, 2023, to March 23, 2023[7]. The project's themes were planned to cover as many parts of matrimony, including but not limited to engagement, wedding planning, wedding ceremony, domestic life, and honeymoon[8]. In a interest check results posted on April 10, 2023, the project reported a total of 106 responses, with high interest in bundled merchandise and a NSFW bundle[9].

Contributor applications for artists, writers, and merch artists opened on April 17, 2023, for both Desire and Intimate Desire, the project's 18+ zine[10]. Contributor applications closed on May 29, 2023[11]. A separate application form for a cover artist for Intimate Desire was open on May 13, 2023[12]. Applications reopened for the NSFW zine from August 28, 2023, to September 3, 2023, to fill in for vacancies left by contributors who stepped down from the project[13].

Preorders opened on November 20, 2023, through bigcartel with the following pricing tiers[14]:

Preorders were expected to end on December 20, 2023, but were extended to January 5, 2024[15]. Orders began to be sent out on December 22, 2023, for orders that were placed in the original preorder period[16]. A holiday giveaway for a zine and merch bundle was hosted from December 26, 2023, to January 1, 2024, requiring interested fans to share and follow the project's social media acount. Upon preorders closing, the project's organizers reported over 100 orders[17]. All orders were sent by January 7, 2024[18].

From March 18, 2024, to April 8, 2024, the zine was made available on itch.io for a charity sale to raise funds for Care For Gaza[19]. On April 24, 2024, the organizers posted a total of over $350 USD was donated to Care For Gaza[20].
