Dancing With the Stars Show was a Yahoo group that had moderated posting, with 1,066 members at its close. The group was active until 2014 with over 600 messages a month at its peak. Discussion rose during the start of each season, with comments about the show's structure, contestant eliminations, and sharing of news about the dance pros, as well as other media appearances by individuals from the show.
Early participants focused more on the performances and details of the show, such as being interested in the costuming, the style of dances selected for the performances and support for Kelly Monaco, whose fanbase turned out to watch the show. Later discussion focused more on the professional partners.

I noticed that Jill thinks the team of Rachel Hunter & Jonathan Roberts look realy good in their photos together. Of course, that doesn't have much to do with the actual dancing! I agree that they look great!
I wonder how much the viewing audience will vote on technical dance skills that the celebrities have learned.......versus more of a personality & popularity contest? I think it's going to be a really popular show, and boost ballroom dancing here in the U.S.A.

So what did you think of last night's show? I know they had two weeks to prepare but it seems to me that quite a few of them have dance experience. What's the point? Sigh. I split my votes 3 ways. I gotta admit I kinda like the grumpy hockey player. LOL I hope he doesn't punch anyone out but if it does happy my money's on a tko for Bruno. ;)

I think Maks is "smitten" with Meryle...and why not? They dance so well together, glad he got a good partner. Charlie and his partner did great too. I'm not voting this season, because of the way the voting works, I don't think it's a fair process. DJ (can't remember her real name) is really good too. Hey, has anyone heard just WHY they replaced the band and WHY they replaced Brooke? Just wondered if anyone knew.

I felt sorry for Billy Dee Williams. He looked so sad. I know some people didn't care for the previous hostess but I'm not crazy about the new one. Her voice is a bit irritating and she doesn't seem to know what questions to ask the dancers.
The changes to host and band are probably to cut costs. Why else would they changes what was working so well?
Derek looked shocked when he saw his partner. I thought they would have told him ahead of time of her challenges. He did a great job with her.
Sorry, I don't know everyone's name yet as I was working on the computer while watching so I missed some things.
Even tho' I don't care for Nee Nee's over the top personality, I have to say she did a great job and will be right up there with the best of them.
I'm looking forward to them changing partners to see how they do then but, I think they'll be O.K. after working with such pros that they'll have a good foundation when they switch.

I thought this season was going to be the last, as the cast seemed so odd. Boy, was I wrong! Once Paula is gone, I don't want to see anyone leave! They turned out to have hidden talent and are so very nice! I think the switch up revealed some better pairings for the first time. I think Alex meshes very well with Emma, Carlos with Lindsey, Andy with Sharna, Alex with Derek. Mark's choreography was great for Paula, and so entertaining. I do prefer him clean shaven. His choreography is so inventive, imaginative, and fun to watch. Derek's choreography is so artistic. I'm surprised the two of them are still doing the show. I hope Sasha and Artem are chosen for a pro next time around. I hope this show goes on for years to come.
