Curse of the Cross is a zine featuring characters from D.Gray-Man. The theme of this zine was centered around Grimm-style monsters and tabletop role playing games.

About

Curse of the Cross is a for-profit D.Gray-Man fanbook themed around Grimm-style monsters and tabletop RPGs! The zine will feature an assorted arrangement of dark fantasy themes and dungeons and dragons inspired concepts! We are looking at 25 artist slots and 5 writers slots available.

Artists have the option to do at most two illustrations or one short comic. There is also the option to become a merch artist as well. Writers will be expected to hit around 3,000 to 7,000 words![1]

The zine's social media account announced on October 12, 2019, that contributor applications would open from October 14th to November 14th[2]. The zine would be for-profit and be focused exclusively on gen content. Applications were extended an extra few hours to account for differing timezones and any remaining interested fans interested in writing or drawing for the zine[3]. Results were sent out by November 27, 2019[4]. Applications reopened again on January 29, 2020, after some contributors could not continue with the project and some pinch hitters could not be contacted[5]. By February 21, 2020, acceptance emails for pinch hitters were sent out[6].

Preorders opened on July 9, 2020, with the following pricing tiers (some bundle names and prices could not be determined at this time)[7]:

Stretch goals included a Guild Member Standee, a one-of-five blindbox style acrylic standee, offered at 50 orders, a Timcampy enamel pin at 100 orders[8][9]. A giveaway for a full bundle was run from July 18th to August 7th[10]. The winner of the giveaway was declared to be Twitter user CandyCrackpot[11]. Preorders ended on August 10, 2020[12].

Orders began shipping out around October 26, 2020, when the organizers confirmed that all packages had been received by their local post office[13].
