Critical Commons is "a public media archive and fair use advocacy network that supports the transformative reuse of media in scholarly and creative contexts."[1] While not specifically meant for it, a fair number of fanvids have been posted there. Each upload must be accompanied by textual commentary before it can be published.[2] The site vows to never introduce advertising[3] and does not remove uploaded videos in response to legal threats[4], but only removes content "if it is flagged by the community to be removed, and if it is determined that the content was not submitted for purposes consistent with the goals of Critical Commons".[5]
