Initially, it was rare for vidders (or collections of vidders) to make collections of their own vids available (See songtape collections). The usual way to get copies of vids was to buy Contapes: collections of vids that showed at a particular fan convention. Not all conventions made contapes, and the ones that did varied in quality. Kandy Fong was known for her contape collections; she was able to make video credits for some of her contapes (Koon-ut-Cali-Con for one).
