Charming, surprisingly cheerful mix of Classic and 3rd season fiction. The major story, in several parts, is Green's “The Female of the Species,” an account of librarian Lizzie Borden, recruited (abducted) by Mouse to help get Father's books in some kind of order. Her interactions with the tunnel community counterpoint V's offstage search for C and recovery of Jacob. D makes one brief appearance. Because Lizzie is the focus, this substantial tale is more upbeat than you might expect. Also brief stories by Mooney, Laura Davis, Mooney/ Green. Art, including cartoons, by Phyllis Berwick, Kristy Effinger (very handsome), Lynette Combs, Leora Effinger, Lucas Effinger. Well written, edited, and presented. Followed by Know Not the Heart.
