Chromatic Vision was created to celebrate fannish works featuring characters of color across fandom. Any rating, any pairing/chromatic character, any fandom, and any type of fannish work are welcomed. The challenge is hosted on InsaneJournal as well as Dreamwidth.
2010 sign ups started February 7 to February 27. Posting began April 13 to April 14. Round 2 began in 2011 with sign ups started from February 20 to February 26. Posting began April 5 to April 9.
There is a segment of Chromatic Vision called Everything Old Is New that allows for participants, if they so choose to, to post older works that feature characters of color at the end of each round.
Chromatic Vision has an optional collection on AO3 for their participants.
In the downtime between round 1 and round 2, a mirror comm on DW was created, also called chromaticvision. Mod announcements from the IJ asylum are mirrored, with everything else remaining in the IJ asylum. Round 2 though did allow for participants to post their fannish works at the DW comm.
Between round 1 and 2, Chromatic Vision hosted a reccing challenge, self-recs included.
From October 1, 2011 to October 14, 2011, Chromatic Vision ran a drabblethon for characters of color with both comms open for drabbles. Not only were drabbles allowed, but so were drawbles and iconbles (2-4 icons of the same image with different textures/texts/colors/etc).
