It's about friendship. No, it's about love. And seeing the glass half full; rising above it all. I liked how the love for the other person (in both of them) made each of them choose not to rage bitterly. That's the secret, really: love turns you away from yourself. Perhaps this story is improbably nice, but it is so full of good thoughts, I don't care. This was good.[1]
It's a moving story of a 'what could be'. Poignant and bittersweet, it's about loss, and survival, but it's also about the choices we make when life doesn't turn out the way we expected. There is a squel to this story equally as moving called Choosing Love.[2]
