"Chapter 17" is a short story by Kizzykat based on Mary Renault's 1953 novel The Charioteer. The story describes events immediately after the final chapter, in which Laurie discovered that Ralph intends suicide.
Synopsis
Now, Laurie and Ralph must talk; but can they clarify their feelings without further misunderstanding?
Background
In order that readers understand the import of the story, Kizzykat has taken a full prefatory page to summarize the plot of The Charioteer and quote its final lines. In addition, the story opens with a Phaedrus-inspired passage about Plato's image of the Charioteer, parallelling the conclusion to the novel.
