Cerebral Cortex is a fansite dedicated to the PC game Commander Keen.
History
The site was created on June 14, 1997 by Geoff Sims as "Geoff's Commander Keen Page"; its initial focus was compiling information about the game and acting as a resource for other players. As few other fansites for Keen existed at the time, it quickly grew in popularity.
The site was eventually turned over to Thea, another webmaster - by this point it had amassed about 150,000 hits and was receiving between 10 and 15 emails daily. [1]
On September 10, 2000, a redesigned version site was relaunched under the current title, with eK, Flaose, and Cho'Gall as webmasters.
Updates continued at a steady pace until early 2005, when Flaose announced their departure. The most recent update on the site's News page is dated January 6, 2023.
