Reactions and Reviews
Another damn good one, putting 'em both through the wringer and all that. Unsettled ending -- good thing we didn't have to wait for the sequel to *that* one -- hint, hint! (Still waiting on the follow-up to "About Face", *and* the next installment of "Changed Perceptions"!) I admit I had some problems at first with *Odo* getting custody of Lwaxana's kid instead of his *real* father, but on further consideration -- given that the whole wedding business was to *make* Odo the kid's legal father -- I can see how Odo *would* be the next in line to take care of Ry'mell. Now why doesn't anyone else follow up on this? And why hasn't the show at least *mentioned* the fact that Odo has a "son" on Betazed? I can just see Lwaxana using that as a ploy to get more time around Odo -- except she isn't *doing* that anymore, is she? (Sigh. Another good plot idea going to waste.) Definitely like Kira and Odo playing mommy and daddy, and this is a hell of a lot more plausible post-Kirayoshi. I still think Kira needs to have Odo come "help her babysit". Of course, that would be even *better* were Odo still human and actually plausibly capable of having a few kids of his own -- not that we really care if it's *plausible* in fanfic, do we? Oh, and I just have to say that I absolutely *loved* Odo's comment about his, shall we say, former sex life? Which I won't repeat here, for the benefit of the easily offended and/or those who haven't read the story -- wouldn't want to ruin the shock of the line! (Trust me, you'll know it when you come to it!) [1]
