Cassandra Pentaghast was introduced in Dragon Age II, where she was interrogating Varric Tethras about the events surrounding Hawke's rise to power. She also stars in the animated movie, Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker, which takes place before the events of DAII. Cassandra is a companion in Dragon Age: Inquisition, and a possible romance for male Inquisitors.
Pre-Inquisition
Many fans were hoping that Cassandra would be a bisexual love interest, and were dismayed to learn that she is only romanceable by male characters. Some fans noted that BioWare's f/f options have all been traditionally "feminine," and that the "noble do-gooder" type of character is straight (and usually male). Fans were hoping for a more "butch" f/f option, and for a character archetype usually reserved for males. [1]
Some people have expressed disappointment with Cassandra's look in DA:I as compared to DAII. Some people claim that she is ugly and looks "too manly."
