Cyril M. Kornbluth was an early science fiction fan and notable member of the Futurians. He often collaborated with Frederik Pohl.
Kornbluth was one of the six Futurians banned from Worldcon 1939. He was sixteen at the time. He was known for hotfooting people at other cons. In 1958, Kornbluth died of a heart attack at age 34. Despite the old feud between New Fandom and the Futurians, Sam Moskowitz printed a never-before-seen manuscript Kornbluth had sent him at age 15, along with a clipping about his death.[1] Moskowitz noted the influence of H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe.[2]
