Lois McMaster Bujold Fanfic Community, often known as bujold_fic, is a livejournal community for fanworks related to works by Lois McMaster Bujold, including the Vorkosigan, Chalion & Sharing Knife series. Founded in 2005 by Fairestcat, it is now moderated by Sahiya. It remains intermittently active as of 2016, with over 450 members.

Welcome to the Bujold Fanfic Community. The purpose of this community is to encourage the posting of fanfic, fanart and filk based on the books of Lois McMaster Bujold in one central lj community.This is NOT a discussion community. There are several other excellent places for discussion of Bujold's books. I particularly suggest the Lois Mcmaster Bujold Mailing list and the lmbujold community.
This is an all inclusive community, we welcome gen, het, slash, AUs, crossovers, anything as long as it's based on the work of Lois McMaster Bujold.
Recommendations are encouraged, and fanwork-related discussion, fic searches, beta requests & fanwork community announcements are also permitted.
History & Ficathons
The community was founded in November 2005 by Fairestcat, who wrote I love to read Bujold fic and I love to rec it, but it can be so hard to find. I know people are writing it, but it's scattered about lj and the internet in personal journals and websites.[1] Filks[2] & fanfiction[3] were reposted at the community early in December, and the influential Miles/Gregor slash novel A Deeper Season was announced at the community at the end of that month.[4]
The Bujold Ficathon or Bujold Fest was proposed at the end of March 2006 by Altariel.[5] The inaugural ficathon posted at the end of May, moderated by Altariel, and included the first fanwork published directly to the community, the Ivan/Byerly story Fluidity by Sahiya, posted on 21 May 2006. The ficathon was subsequently administered via the community by Quietann, Sahiya, Philomytha & others, until it moved exclusively to Archive of Our Own in 2015. The Winterfair exchange was also administered via the community in 2011 & 2012 by Tel.
Sahiya took over the moderator role in July 2008.[6] The community was highly active, for a rarelit fandom, from early 2006 until around 2014, with posts several times a week or more frequently during ficathons. By 2010–11, however, the fandom was starting to move to AO3. Sporadic posts continue to appear on the community as of July 2016.
