Bridget Jones' Diary is a two-book series created by Helen Fielding that spawned two rom coms films starring Renée Zellweger as Bridget Jones and her romantic interests: Colin Firth as Mark Darcy and Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver.

The books were based upon Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and it's popular 1995 BBC adaptation. "Mark Darcy" is quite similar to the character Mr. Darcy. In the BJD films they casted Colin Firth as Mark Darcy since he was the true "Mr. Darcy" - having starred in that adaption that many still remember him as.
