Blackest Night is a fanzine featuring fanart and fanfiction about Dark Knights in Final Fantasy XIV.

About

The zine was announced with an interest check from January 31, 2022, until February 9th. The zine was described as a "one-off fanmade publication comprising of illustrations and writings relating to the Dark Knight quests and lore". Contributor applications opened for artists and writers from April 4 to April 17, 2022. The deadline was extended to April 24, 2022, later. Acceptance and rejection emails were sent out around May 1, 2022.

Preorders opened on August 17, 2022, wit the following pricing tiers:

• Voiceless (£18.00 GBP) - Digital Zine
• Onyx Shade (£25.00 GBP - £30.00 GBP) - Physical Zine
• Obsidian Heart (£25.00 GBP) - Prints, Sticker Sheets, Die-cut Stickers, Button Badges
• Swirling Abyss (£45.00 GBP - £50.00 GBP) - Physical Zine, Prints, Sticker Sheets, Die-cut Stickers, Button Badges

Stretch goals included a sticker sheet at 150 orders and a Dark Knight Haurchefant sticker at 200 orders. Sales ended on September 30, 2022.

All orders were packaged by October 31, 2022, and would begin dispatching on November 2nd. Remaining preorders were processed on November 4th. Digital PDFs of the zine were sent out on November 7th.

The zine's online store opened for leftover sales beginning December 1, 2022, and ending on January 12, 2023. Shortly after the shop closed, the project announced that overseas orders would be paused due to Royal Mail delays. No further updates had been made since then.
