Beyond The Breach is an artzine with some fanfiction, crafts and cosplay focusing on characters from Pacific Rim. The project was funded via Kickstarter with 235 backers raising $8,631 of the $8500 goal.[1] It is a 7x10 perfect bound with over 100 pages.
This is a collaborative project to bring together artists, crafters, writers, and cosplayers to create something truly unique that shows off the creativity and passion that fans of the film have and continue to put forward.For making this book a physical object, we will be exploring fundraising through Kickstarter. All money raised will go towards creating and shipping the fan book. Anything in excess will be donated to the following (neither of these organizations have any involvement in the fanbook, aside from the possibility of donations at the very end):
Mission Blue: A not-for-profit global, organization led by Dr. Sylvia Earle, focused on the exploration and care of the ocean. In particular the formation of “Hope Spots” (Marine Protected Areas) around the globe.
Seattle Attic: “A feminist, woman-centered, trans- and queer- inclusive space for tinkerers, makers, crafters and hackers of all genders”, where all creative types can work together, share ideas, and use the resources supplied by Seattle Attic.
