Beneath the Same Stars is a Kingdom Hearts zine centered around the characters Aqua, Terra, and Ventus, protagonists of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and known by fans as the Wayfinder Trio.

About

The zine first opened its social media accounts and posted a teaser on February 22, 2020[1]. On March 30, 2020, the project was put on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting applications, market rates, and logistics of production[2]. The zine returned from hiatus on July 13, 2020[3].

Mod applications for Finance, Formatting, Beta Reader, and Artistic Support were opened on July 17 and closed on June 20, 2020[4]. Contributor applications ran from August 24 to September 14, 2020[5].

Preorders opened on January 9, 2021, with the following pricing tiers[6]:

  • United Bundle ($15 USD) - Digital Zine, Digital Wallpaper
  • Departed Bundle ($25 USD) - Physical Zine, First Stretch Goal
  • Lost Bundle ($35 USD) - Physical Zine, Sticker Sheet, Die-cut Stickers, First Stretch Goal
  • Found Bundle ($60 USD, Limited) - Physical Zine, Sticker Sheet, Die-cut Stickers, Photo Booth Strip, Mini Prints, Sticker Sheet, Washi Tape, All Stretch Goals

Digital copies could be added to physical orders for $5 USD. Stretch Goals included for a spot UV cover upgrade for all physical zines at 50 orders, Wayfinder enamel pins at 100 orders, and a acrylic Standee at 150 orders[7]. The limited bundle sold out on February 5, 2021[8]. Preorders closed on February 9, 2021[9]

Digital copies were sent out on May 20, 2021[10]. Shipping of physical orders was confirmed to begin on May 22, 2021[11].

Leftover sales began on August 20, 2021, and would run until supplies ran out[12]. A giveaway for a full bundle was run from August 6 to August 19, 2021[13]. The winner was Twitter user HoshiLivi[14]. Leftovers sales ended on November 1, 2021[15].
