Editor's note: "This is the first of the slightly more 'adult' stories that have been written for the club. Although this time round the contents are not that explicit, it could be that future issues are more so. BELOW THE BELT is the club's adult fanzine and thus we feel we should cover ourselves with the age statement. We hope that you find something to your liking with these pages and as always look forward to hearing from you."

Contents

  • The Other Half by Susan Warvill (1)
  • Vulcans Do Have Long Lives, poem by Theresa Evans (14)
  • The Pact by Sue Ride (15)
  • Fixations by Sue Williams (24)
  • A Little More Than, poem by Christine Miles (31)
  • A Matter of Gender by Gary Robertson (In it, Kirk goes down to a planet for some Shore Leave sex, finds himself in a bar he calls "the local faghouse," goes home with someone he assumes is a woman, only to find out this species of humans are female "on top" and "and male from the waist down." He is horrified and asks to be transported home. Uhura has been eavesdropping on the communication's line when Scotty and McCoy explain this to Kirk, and she is excited to have gossip to tell her knitting circle. This story includes the lines: "Marahesh's twin moons beamed a silvery light down on the duo, and this inspired a romantic thought in Kirk's mind: "My god," he thought. "I'll bet she bangs louder than a shithouse door,"—something that may make one suspect this story is a satiric one.) (32)

  • Nuit Et Jour by Christine Miles (49)
  • Kismet by Sue Ride (50)
