Beavis and Butt-Head was an American animated TV series on MTV from 1993-1997 and which experienced a brief revival in 2011, and another revival in 2022 that is supposedly getting a new season in 2025. The series was created by Mike Judge, who notably created King Of The Hill as well.
Episodes had snippets between the actual plotline where the title characters would watch music videos and either praising them ("This is cool") or mocking them ("This sucks.") in a manner similar to Mystery Science Theater 3000 and otherwise engaging in various forms of antisocial behavior. It also spun off Daria.
The show revolved around the two main characters living their lives in Highland, Texas. The duo are both 15 years old, and attend a poorly functioned high school called Highland High.
In the series Daria Morgendorffer starred as a recurring character who was amused by their stupidity but tried to help them out, to little success.
A chubby blond boy named Stewart Stevenson was their neighbor, and the boys often bullied him although he still admired them. The duo themselves had a similar dynamic with Todd Ianuzzi, who beat them on a regular basis but whom they admired and wanted to be like.
They worked at a fast food place called Burger World. Despite being constantly irritated with their antics, the manager never fired them.

Canonically, the only hint of romance was the boys' obsession with getting laid by beautiful women and having man-crushes on bully Todd Ianuzzi. In Do The Universe, Beavis forms a crush on the antagonist of the film Serena Ryan. Beavis begins talking with Siri, whom he mistakes for the actual Serena and struggles nearly throughout the second half of the film confessing his love for her. Butt-Head believe that he is a wussy for having feelings but not getting a boner.
Butt-Head is also sexually obsessed with Beavis's mother and the mother of his and Beavis's punching bag Stewart Stevenson.
Fandom-wise, Beavis/Butt-Head is surprisingly popular, with fans reasoning it's the only way they'll actually get any and noting how the two spend every waking moment together.
Another ship within the fandom that is popular is Coach Bradley Buzzcut/David Van Driessen (aka buzzdriessen) that highlights the unofficial relationship between Beavis and buttheads teacher Coach Buzzcut (yes the guy who said “We're gonna be talking about the PENIS!”) and their hippie teacher Mr Van Driessen. A well-known shipper of this pairing, and perhaps the only shipper of this pairing, is AO3 author vandriessen (also known as mikejudge on Tumblr).
A ship that particularly grew popularity and existence after the release of the second Beavis and Butt-Head movie is Smart Beavis/Smart Butt-Head.
There are heterosexual ships, however, one being Bearia. Bearia is the ship between Beavis and Daria Morgendorffer, fans of the late 2000s/early 2010s arguing that Beavis is nicer, therefore he deserves to score... and who better to pair him with than the cynic herself? There is about eight fanfics revolving around the ship on fanfiction.net, and at least three on archiveofourown.org.
The books, oddly enough, hint at Butthead/Daria, or at least that Butthead has the hots for her.
