Barb Gompf was a frequent attendee of Mediawest and volunteered in various capacities working with Gofers and staffing the Con Suite. She passed away in March 2020.[1]
Memories
Terri Librande: Barbara was a source of sanity in a crazy world. I like to remember her at Mediawest in the con suite. Always practical, always my dear friend. The last hug I got just a few weeks ago was so warm and safe. I miss u Barb. God bless your family.[2]
Lori Chapek-Carleton: Barb was part and parcel of what made MediaWest*Con a welcoming annual gathering of literary and cinematic fandom friends. Genuinely kind, always calm-mannered, her friendship and memory is cherished.[3]
[Desi Shannon]: I got to know Barbara when I was younger and attended various science fiction conventions around the country. She was one of the happiest, funniest people I ever knew, and had something to say on every subject. I wish I had kept better track of her, though we did find each other again through Facebook a few months before she passed.[4]
