Bad Girls is a British television drama series set in the fictional women's prison of Larkhall, and features a mixture of serious and light storylines focusing on the prisoners and staff of G Wing.
Fandom
During the show's airing (1999-2006), there were many individual fansites for the show; the site Bad Girls Links had 60+ sites about various aspects of the show, including fanworks[1]. Episode discussions, screen captures, and short clips from the show were popular, and there was a reasonable amount of fanwork focused sites as well.
Many fanworks on these individual sites and on femslash focused sites such as Passion and Perfection, which hosted a large number of Bad Girls fanworks, were never cross-posted to newer fanwork sites.
As a result, on newer fannish spaces such as fanwork sites Archive of Our Own and Fanfiction.net, the fandoms are much smaller with 119 and 110 works respectively. In social media spaces, it can be more difficult to find discussions about the show, with searches or tags of "Bad Girls" often bringing up results completely unrelated to the show.
