Artrise (formerly known as ArtistEden) is a now-defunct upcoming art gallery and social network similar to Deviantart, it's development started in November 2018, as response of first announcement of Deviantart eclipse. IN November 2021 there was an update on the project's Deviantart page, explaining the delay in the project which was due to one of the developers (known as 4D) having a brain tumor and COVID-13 causing delays in his treatment. A comment made by Shadow-Dragon-777 on this thread on November 4, 2022 further claimed the project was defunct:

For those of you wondering what happened... ArtRise sadly didn't make it, two of it's developers died, another left, and a fourth stole all the funds for their personal project. It's really sad because Canvas was an awesome mascot and the site looked promising. As far as I know, ArtSpacious is still being developed so check that out if you are interested.

The veracity of this statement is not proven; Shadow-Dragon-777 stated the death of one of the developers from COVID was announced on the discord[2], and the social media belonging to 4D has not been updated since May 3, 2022[3]. It was also claimed that one of the developers took the money raised for their own project (Buzzlyart), but this has not been verified.

Features

ArtRise is described by it's development team as having group features similar to those that seen on sites like Deviantart, with profile customization like both Pre-eclipse Deviantart and Toyhouse, as well Forums or Discussion page, Multiple image uploads, User-generated thumbnails via the site's submission page, Premium Memberships, and Private profiles.

Mascot

ArtRise's mascot is a white 'noodle dragon' named Canvas who can become whatever an artist desires them to be. They are covered in blank, white feathers or fur that an artist can draw and paint on much like an actual canvas and their tail is frequently used as a paintbrush.

Cancellation

By Mid-2022, Artrise's website was cybersquatted, and as of 2023, none of the associated social media appears to be active.
