Aria T'Loak is a side character and temporary squad member in the Mass Effect trilogy.
Canon
Aria T'Loak is the asari de facto ruler of Omega, the nominal capital of the Terminus Systems. Also known as the "Pirate Queen" of Omega, Aria is fiercely possessive of the space station and will do anything to protect it and maintain her dominance.[1]
Fandom

Shepard/Aria was one of Aria's biggest ships after she was first introduced in Mass Effect 2. However, come Mass Effect 3 it was revealed through the Omega DLC story line that she had a past, and ultimately doomed, relationship with Nyreen Kandros, this lead to Aria/Nyreen become popular. Aria/Tevos is also popular, though the two share little interaction in canon, the pairing started gaining a following after getting several prompts in the Mass Effect Kink Meme.
