Okay, I just gotta say... I read the whole story through and I gotta say that this was freaking BEAUTIFUL! The part where Nanoha died brought a tear to my eye and how Alicia left was so surprising. And then I felt so touched when Fate visited Alicia's grave... Somehow, there was just something special about it that just warmed my heart... This was an excellent story that portrayed Fate's character and her dedication to her family far better than any other Fanfic I have ever seen on this site. Truly you have finished a beautiful work. You my friend have a talent. Thank you for bringing this to us. Excellent work. [2]
Once again you deliver a refreshing and well written story and once again I feel a bit sad that it's over. You handled the alternate universe quite good I think. You took into account many consequences with it not having Fate there. I felt so sorry for Alt!Nanoha and how her life had changed.
The bittersweet ending left me wanting to read more with teen Vivio and her mothers.[3]
Great story! Started out with a nice mystery, expanded upon with excellent characterization, and closed with a memorable ending. The plot is interesting, and the story is well told. I especially enjoyed the scenes of Fate bonding with her twin sister. Tender, emotional, a joy to read. But the one thing I'll treasure the most from this experience, is getting to know and love the AltS!Nanoha character. Gentle, loving, with a quiet strength. Despite her tragic past and being wheelchair-bound, she lived her life with a positive energy, even taking on the daunting task of parenting a young child when she realized it's in the best interest of Vivio.Over the course of reading these nine chapters, I've grown really attached to her. My heart ached when I felt her deep loneliness which she kept well hidden from her friends, and jumped for joy when she found true love for the first time in her life. To have someone adore her, cuddle her, and hold her in a passionate embrace - that must be something she had longed for but was afraid to envisage. That's why I can understand that, during a moment of weakness she almost did something that she may later regret. It must have taken tremendous will for her to keep her powerful attraction for Fate bottled up like that, and to ultimately sacrifice herself for the happiness of the one she loved. I had really hoped for a happier ending for my beloved Nanoha, but I guess some things are not meant to be...
I really enjoyed reading AlternativeS, and I look forward to the epilogue.[4]
