Why This Must Be Read:Because it’s erotic and intimate without containing any sex and barely any touching. Like the bulk of Mulder and Scully’s relationship in canon, it is almost entirely cerebral.
This is a post-Biogenesis story that was jossed by the events of Amor Fati. It takes place in Mulder’s head: his experience of experiencing Scully while he’s still under the influence of the alien artefact. And then the aftermath, when that influence is gone.
Ambress is one of my favourite XF writers and this story is part of my head!canon.[1]
