Alien abduction is a trope involving the kidnapping of one or more characters by an alien species. This often done for sinister reasons, such as torture, scientific experimentation, or exploitation as food source. However, there are also more benevolent interpretations of the trope, such as alien "saviors" attempting to save humanity from extinction.
