Fan Comments

In this CI5-universe story Doyle has to go undercover as a stripper. This is in a much lighter vein than the previous two [stories I read]. That isn’t to say it’s a humorous story, for after all the reason Doyle is playing that role is a serious and tragic enough one. However, once the reason for him being there has been established it is forgotten about until the end of the tale, and the story concentrates on the reactions of Bodie and Doyle. Doyle’s choice of costume vas a surprise not only to Bodie but to me as well, but was quite humorous, particularly when he took: up a jokey suggestion from Bodie for an accessory.

In this story you get the usual Bodie and Doyle repartee and also moments of comfort and support. There is no emotional suffering as in NIGHT MOVES and no unusual difficulties as in UNFINISHED MELODY, but rather a quite straightforward path to a happy resolution - and I should think several private performances for Bodie's eyes only!
