Above All Else: Izzy Hands Zine is a charity anthology zine in Our Flag Means Death fandom, focused on Izzy Hands. The with all proceeds going to Mermaids UK.[2] A physical copy of the zine was hand-delivered to actor Com O'Neill,[3][4] in addition to a related collection on AO3.
The mods are: @Montager7, @skemcesisetlt, @PointDimitri, @HarmlessinEvery and @QueerMagneto aka Karloffs (Sam).[2]
The 'Above All Else' Zine was dedicated to exploring and celebrating the character of Izzy Hands, and the positive impact he has had upon his fans. Inspired by a cancer scare that left one of the moderators wanting to celebrate the supportive fan community, 'Above All Else' brought together over 200 pages of some of the most diverse fanworks from 71 contributors, including:-30+ Pieces of Digital & Traditional Fanart
-40+ Pieces of Short Form Fan Fiction, Poetry, & Drabbles, Meta Essays & Personal Reflection Essays
-12+ Cosplay Photoshoots, Word Games & Puzzles
-& Others including Cross-stitch, Tattoo Design, Playlists, & More!Every work came with individual statements on the creation of every piece as well as the personal stories of each Contributor's time in the fandom.
This zine was approximately teen-rated and 'gen', with no shipping included, focusing entirely on the character of Izzy Hands.
They raised £2682.54 that was donated to Mermaids UK[5].
