A World Full of Jokers is a slash mirror universe Starsky and Hutch story by Verlaine.

It was originally published in the zine Blood and Destiny and is online.

Excerpt

"Hutch — in an expensive suit that fit him better than anything Starsky had ever seen him wear and a pair of shoes that probably cost more than the two of them together took home in a month, with his hair cut in the latest conservative style and a flash of gold watch on his wrist. For a moment Starsky was sure he was having hallucinations. That simply could not be Hutch down there, looking so much like the old pictures of his father during his days as a CEO."

Reactions and Reviews

I haven't found S&H to be heavy on the AUs (at least not yet!). But this one is a gem. Starsky falls through a strange mirror he finds hidden in the bowels of a museum. On the other side is a freaky shadow world where Hutch and he are mortal enemies, and no one is as they should be. While Starsk struggles to find a way home, his partner frantically searches for him in the real world. Assisting him is a prickly French Ph.D, the Bay City cop who has a crush on her, Dobey, Minnie and a reluctant CIA agent. It's like a rollercoaster ride through an entire house of mirrors. Wonderful stuff! [1]
