Author's Comments

I secretly wanted to write a K/S story but I really hadn’t written anything before and didn’t fully understand how to write it let alone get it published. A girlfriend of mine told me to not to write Kirk and Spock together but rather some “sexy” Star Trek featuring Kirk with a woman. So I took her advice and spent many hours immersed in writing a story about Kirk and the Elaan of Troyus. I wrote it on my state-of-the-art word processor which was essentially a glorified typewriter. But I loved every minute of the writing experience. So here’s this story of Kirk with this woman, but hidden in the action were secret little K/S references that I felt were so illicit and so naughty, but I just had to test the K/S waters. I should mention that when I wrote the sex scenes with Kirk and Elaan I had thought they would be all exciting and stimulating, but strangely enough I remember wondering why I didn’t feel anything in particular. One secret K/S moment was when Kirk and Spock are being held captive by the Klingons, Spock does that mind meld thing along the wall to the door to get the guard to open the door. Those pesky Klingon psychic emanations are terrible and they throw Spock away from the door in great distress and of course Kirk has to hold him, but Kirk holds him for a little too long. Later Spock is very “concerned for his captain” and watches him very closely. I thought everyone would see these things and would know! [1]

Reactions and Reviews

A WARRIOR'S TEARS is straight adult, and deals with Kirk's next meeting with Elaan. Although the attraction between them is still strong, and events seem to offer a chance for them, duty must still be served. I liked this treatment of Elaan, who comes over as strong and believable.[2]
