Wield/OMC. Wield is awkwardly trying to find someone in a gay pub when he's chatted up by a handsome man called Kevin... This is a realistic and well written story about a relatively minor character in a relatively minor fandom. Detective Sergeant Wield is, in his own words "as ugly as sin" and coming out of the closet late in life. He's uncomfortable with the concept of dating and public displays of affection and this is a wonderful look at how he comes to terms with his new relationship with Kevin, a teacher at the college and friend of Peter Pascoe and his wife, Ellie.
