A Elbereth Gilthoniel is a gen Tolkien newsletter. It has the subtitle: "The Newsletter of the Fellowship of Middle Earth." It evolved into a general fantasy zine that included much original poetry and fiction. After two issues, it changed its name to "Elbereth" and continued to move away from Tolkien as a main subject.
A Elbereth Gilthoniel 1 was published in April 1978. It is A4 and contains 4 pages.
A Elbereth Gilthoniel 2 was published in 1978. It contains the first page of a manuscript written by J. R. R. Tolkien called 'Doworst', a humorous poem following the form of Piers Plowman on page 3.
