A Doctor's Advice (aka "A Doctor's Concern") is an illo by Shelley Butler.
Artist's Comments
I had a few prints made. The original has been sold. This is a color piece of McCoy looking with great concern at Spock. Of course, we know the good doctor is concerned about Spock’s relationship with Kirk and wants to convince Spock to tell Kirk how much he loves him. One of the few color pieces I’ve done. I had to teach myself color pencil techniques by reading some books on how to draw with color pencil! It’s totally different than graphite, and much, much more difficult. As a result, I have far fewer color works. Oh, and of course, Spock’s skin color poses a particularly unusual challenge." [2]
