APA Hashin (also APA Hasshin) was an apazine associated with the San Antonio chapter of the Cartoon/Fantasy Organization. It was unrelated to the Rhode Island-based fanclub Anime Hasshin.

The original APA Hashin published 14 bimonthly issues and then shut down due to internal politics. Stukey created APA Hashin II as a successor which ran quarterly.

Title

There is currently some disagreement as to the spelling of HASHIN. I've seen it spelled "hashin", "hasshin", and "hassin" myself. There is no one CORRECT english spelling, folks. I perfer "hashin" and intend to use it as the official title, so please, potential cover artists, spell it that way on the cover (to avoid confusing people)! How you choose to spell it in your individual tribs is up to you --- like I say, as far as I can tell ALL THREE spellings are correct.

This apa is the veteran of this lot, its fourth issue was mailed out in late December. While it is aimed at anime in general, it tends to stray into general science fiction/fantasy on occasion. Translations and/or info guides on series have appeared within its pages.

COMMENTS: Uhhh, this one is mine, so what can I say other than everyone is having a good time?! Absolutely no politics or personal attacks.

Stukey in the New CFO Bulletin, January-March 1987

By December 1988, Stukey described the original APA Hashin as "defunct" and proposed a new quarterly apa, APA Hashin II:

Fan fiction, artwork, translations, background information, gaming informations, comments, general BS are all welcome in this apa. Personal attacks, feuds, discussions of general C/FO politics (or the politics of any other fan club for that matter), and the like are not welcome in this apa. The fact that many of members of the C/FO Board of Directors are members of APA-HASHIN does not make this apa a forum for discussions of C/FO business and politics.

[...]

There is no restriction on including X-rated, slash, or S&M material in this apa (but don't expect everyone to look at and comment on such material, many people just skip over such stuff)! Feel free to include X-rated stories and artwork if you are so inclined, no one has to read/look at them if they don't want to --- however, it is polite to warn people about such material before they get to it. If you object to such material or are not of age, please do not join this apa.

[...] Bitching about the enforcement of [rules] to the OE or other members (e.g. "That was insulting to me, why didn't you remove it" or "How dare you remove a page of my trib - it wasn't meant as an insult") is the only SURE way to get kicked off this apa as this was one of the main things that contributed to the death of the original APA HASHIN.
