20_fics was a LiveJournal-based community that hosted an open fanfiction prompt challenge. There were 107 entries and 220 comments recorded in the community as of 2022. Its sister community, 10_fics, hosted an identical challenge with 10 prompts instead of 20.

The goal?
- write 20 fanfics based on a set of prompts
The guidelines?
- 100 words minimum (no maximum)
- only 5 crossovers allowed per claim (unless the claim is a crossover)
- all fic behind lj-cut
- use suitable headings [prompt number + character/pairing] is preferable
- tag all entries with the fandom & your username (you will be provided with these tags when your claim is approved)
- all ratings and content are allowed as long as material is under lj-cut and suitable warnings are supplied
- changing claims is acceptable but if you ask to change too many times I have the right to remove all of your claims and ban you from the community for a period of time chosen by me
