Long, tightly plotted story, which I find very impressive in the way it weaves in events in the series from earlier as well as foreshadowing what we know is to come (not Gunther). The characters are well-drawn, with convincing new ones as well as the familiar ones. The writing is very atmospheric. It has haunted me since I first read it.[1]
