The FanficMaker is a website hosting a Madlibs-style fanfiction generator to "Automatically generate eye-wateringly bad stories!"[1] Users can enter the story details of their choice (character names, superpowers, MacGuffin, time period, author name, etc) or use a selection of presets from various fandoms. Five sliders are also available to determine the story's level of violence, sexual content, cliches, the author's egotisticalness ("At high values the author will even insert themselves into the story."), and the typing style. Different fonts and background images are also selectable.

The FanficMaker was coded by Thomas Wrobel and Bertine van Hövell and is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0). In 2016, in response to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, an option to display the story as a Star Wars intro crawl was added, alongside the addition of a TFA fandom preset for the generator.

Intro page excerpt

Welcome to the fanfic maker. A prestigious site for pointless stories.

Specify the details of your chosen fandom and move the sliders depending on what type of story you're looking for. The page will then generate a story based on your input. You can also share snippets of the generated story by highlighting it and choose "Share this quote". Most of the snippets have been inspired by real examples of fanfiction from sites such as fanfiction.net.

Because of the potential sexual and violent stories, readers are warned. This generator is *definitely* not work safe. The creators can not be held responsible for the use of this software, nor for any eye-gorging or brain hemorrhages that may happen from reading what it creates.
