Azurite, who formerly went by the name Andromida, started out her fandom life when she was about 9 or 10, and her older sister introduced her to Japanese anime, in particular Sailor Moon. Az joined the online Sailor Moon Romantic Fan Fiction mailing list, SMRFF, headed by Mklutz and wrote a few stories. Several older list members kindly took Az under their wings and helped her learn the fandom ropes.

Azurite's first major attempt at fanfiction was a 10-chapter Sailor Moon piece entitled "Only 16," about the Sailor Moon heroine Usagi Tsukino becoming mysteriously pregnant at age 16. The story took several years to write, and during that time, Az became more actively involved in fandom in general, learning the terminology (words such as WAFF and TAFF), generally getting a feel for fandom politics and manners. She also discovered a number of other shoujo anime fandoms, including Fancy Lala, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Fushigi Yuugi.

By the time Azurite entered high school, she'd penned a number of fanfics that she'd posted on various websites and Yahoo! Groups mailing lists, and expanded her fandom repertoire to include several shounen titles such as Ranma 1/2, InuYasha, Full Metal Panic, and a number of role-playing video game titles including some from the Final Fantasy series and two of the Star Ocean titles. She'd also been introduced to a number of inspirational books, movies, and television drama series. She's a fan of a number of series which she didn't become a participant in fandom for, including TV's Alias, several of the Star Trek television shows, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: NY. She also enjoys a good J-drama (J-dorama) TV series and movies every now and again, including anything with Jun Matsumoto in it, like the live-action Hana Yori Dango and Bambino!. She'll pretty much watch any J-drama based off of a manga she knows, but has discovered a few gems, such as TRICK through the recommendation of friends like Mklutz.

She's been primarily active in the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom since 2003, when she was hit with a plotbunny the size of a semi truck. This plotbunny took the form of Azurite's longest fanfiction to date, a romantic drama Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfiction featuring Seto Kaiba and Anzu Mazaki (a pairing also known as Azureshipping, though not after Azurite herself, much as she delights in the irony). Since falling for these characters as a couple, Azurite has also opened up Dragonfayth[1], a Seto Kaiba x Anzu Mazaki Fanfiction Archive, and Blue Eyes and Apricots[2], the Fanlisting for Seto Kaiba x Anzu Mazaki. She also maintains a number of other websites on her domain, Seventh-Star.Net.

As of 2008, Azurite was toiling through Chapter 26 of a planned 36 for the WIP "What Doesn't Kill You" and had three sequels and a potential series of spin-offs of the third sequel planned. She started writing the story in 2003.

On LiveJournal, she's either the owner or co-maintainer of a number of communities, including 30kisses, PlayTheDamnCard!, and more.
