Your Kink Is Not My Kink is frequently abbreviated as YKINMK. May also appear as YKINMKBYKIOK (Your Kink Is Not My Kink But Your Kink Is Okay).[1] There are several other variations on the "Your Kink. . ." abbreviation such as YKIOK (Your Kink Is Ok) or YKINMKATO (Your Kink Is Not My Kink And That's OK).
These expressions are often used to indicate support for fannish diversity and to distinguish between disapproval or kink shaming and simply having different taste.
The phrase may have originated in the BDSM communities in the 1990s.[2]
