Turkfanfiction.net was an efiction-based fanfiction and original fiction archive for Turkish language works.
Founded by Glenien in 2007, Turkfanfiction.net entertained its members for nine years with the goal of bringing together all Turkish fanfiction writers and readers while educating and advising them on fandom culture.
In 2016, it was announced that the archive had decided to close and be imported to the Archive of Our Own:
Turkfanfiction.net believes that the Turkish fandom is ready to join to a more organized, strong-footed, international platform while providing more content to the AO3 archive. As Turkfanfiction.net closes, its nine-year internet history will be preserved through the Open Doors project, while encouraging new Turkish authors and readers to join the AO3 archive.[1]
At the moment of its closing announcement, Turkfanfiction.net had 8852 members, 836 authors and 2763 stories. 594 of these stories were original works; the rest were fanfics from various fandoms. A video memorial was also created to say farewell to its members.
The import of this archive to the AO3 was approved by the OTW Open Doors Committee in July 2016, and creators were invited to start moving their stories to the new collection in July 2016. Open Doors announced the move on the AO3 in September 2016[1]. The import was completed in March 2017.
