Con Reports
It was a good con, well organised and very well attended... The highlight for me was seeing some episodes of Voyager and, so far, I like what I have seen. I'm looking forward to the video release of the episodes. The pilot, Caretaker, should be available by the time you read this and I believe a new tape will be issued every four weeks. A Collector's Video was planned for release in early June but has been postponed until November due to some contractual problems. The dealers' room at Timewarp was large and uncrowded, much more pleasant than some of the cramped rooms we've had to put up with at other cons. Sales of our merchandise were very good... One thing I noticed at Timewarp, which hasn't been apparent at other cons, is that many of the professional dealers were selling goods at vastly inflated prices. In fact, on the Sunday afternoon, some dealers reduced prices by up to sixty percent in an attempt to clear their stock. So beware. I was also surprised to find that many of the people attending the con had little knowledge of Classic Trek. Majel Barrett was the guest of honour and it was apparent that some people knew her only as Lwaxana Troi and had no idea that she had played Chris Chapel and Number One, or even that she was the wife of Gene Roddenberry!
